Chief Accountant

For one of our clients in the manufacturing sector, we are looking for candidates for the position of Chief Accountant.

Responsibilities:
• Management of Financial Accounting – Recording, analyzing, and classifying all financial transactions
and documents,
• Preparation of Financial Statements and Reporting – Monthly, quarterly, and annual financial
statements (Balance Sheet, P&L, Cash Flow Statements) in accordance with local and international
standards (Polish accounting regulations, IFRS, US GAAP),
• Planning and Maintenance of the Chart of Accounts – Development of a chart of accounts that
complies with legal requirements, controlling needs, and tax regulations,
• Account Reconciliation and Inventory – Reconciliation of accounts with business partners and (bank)
balance checks, as well as inventory valuation of assets,
• Monitoring Document and Invoice Processes – Ensuring correct and timely document flow, including
invoicing and payment transactions,
• Tax and Duties Management – Timely submission of tax declarations (CIT, VAT, PIT, ZUS), monitoring
legal changes, and ensuring compliance,
• Budgeting and Financial Forecasts – Support in budget preparation, financial planning, and corporate
forecasting,
• Collaboration with External Auditors and Authorities – Coordination with auditors and contact points
such as the Tax Office (US), Social Insurance (ZUS), Statistical Office (GUS), and National Bank (NBP),
• Team Leadership and Organization of Accounting – Leading and developing the accounting team,
implementing internal control processes, and ensuring quality.
Additional Responsibilities:
• System Implementation and Key User Tasks – Introduction of new accounting software as needed,
• Payroll Management – Verification of payroll data, processing of salary payments, social contributions,
and income tax (e.g., PPK reporting).
Requirements & Qualifications:
• University degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration,
• Several years of experience in accounting, preferably as Chief Accountant or in auditing,
• Certifications such as Auditor ('biegły rewident'), ACCA/CIMA are advantageous,
• In-depth knowledge of Polish accounting and tax law, IFRS/GAAP standards,
• Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills,
• Excellent language skills (Polish, English, German would be advantageous)
