Your responsibilities

• Drive x-functional collaboration between Global R&D, product management and manufacturing in order to properly understand applications and customer needs and translate this to a successful electronics design (functionality, performance, robustness, product cost, maintainability).
• Drive Electronic design deliverables in the APD process, x-disciplines and x-sites.
• Coordinate establishment of an Electronics technology roadmap that effectively supports the product roadmap.
• Break down system requirements to Product and design requirements.
• Perform design of and verify new welding equipment.
• Perform Power Electronics design activities.
• Work with existing and / or new suppliers for cost reduction activities.
• Lead Product Care electronic activities across entire ESAB portfolio and coordinate activities between R&D India and Opole.
• Implement equipment design in CAD and PLM.
• Drive pre-development of new technologies for welding and automation equipment.
• Work closely with Power electronic designers, T&V engineers, mechanical engineers, VA-VE team, sourcing, and production to develop new, and maintaining existing equipment portfolio.
• Develop his/hers role as a specialist.

Our requirements

• M.Sc. in Electronics or corresponding competence received in other ways.
• Minimum 10 years of experience and proven track record in Electronic Design.
• Very strong ability to manage and make decisions for complex technical issues.

• Experience of Hardware design using FPGA / HDL
• Skills in ECAD, preferably Cadence Orcad and simulation tools.
• Solid own development experience in Welding Equipment & Automation Electronics
• Experience of leading small to medium size teams (informally or formally)
• Track record of ability of documenting requirements and design in a structured way
• High interest in working acc to Agile methods. Task driven person.
• Able to manage his/hers workload with the right priorities and minimum supervision.
• Skilled level of Project Management.
• High interest in continuous improvements.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Some travel required
• The hardware engineer shall be capable of designing analog/digital circuits with proper choice of semiconductors IGBT’s MOSFET, SCR’s and magnetics. Also, should design and develop complete power supply and test it according to specifications.
• Hands on experience on semiconductors such as IGBT’s MOSFETs etc. with knowledge on different converter topologies
• Design of EMC filters and PFC chokes, and knowledge on related IEC, UL standards.
• Capable of analog circuit design, simulation using Pspice and OrCAD, PSIM and MATLAB
• Shall have experience in design and testing (as per IEC standards) of HF Transformers, Inductors.
• Capable of designing signal conditioning circuits using op amp and comparators
• Use the ECAD tools such as Altium and OrCAD for library part creation, Schematic generation, and generating necessary Gerber files for manufacturing.
• Interact with global Electrical/Mechanical Engineers (Sweden & India) to accomplish design for manufacturability (DFM), design for assembly (DFA), and design for test (DFT) according to industry standards such as IEC, IPC etc.

• The purpose of the Senior Electronics Designer is to develop concepts, design, document, implement and verify embedded control solutions and electronics design in welding equipment in close co-operation with Global Equipment and Automation R&D.
