Node.JS Developer

Zakres obowiązków

  • Discipline combines software and system engineering to build distributed, fault tolerant systems,
  • Automation and programmability are core to project delivery to ensure supportability and maintainability,
  • Responsible for service delivery and development of core ISP services, as well as network and data centre solutions,
  • Develop applications for Sky Broadband Internet Service Platform,
  • Develop software to automatically test applications and services,
  • Write and maintain documentation about the applications and services,
  • Take industry-standard open-source technologies, install and configure them and develop APIs for other applications to access them as a service,
  • Write software that interacts directly with vendor devices/systems, understanding behaviour in order to incorporate it into a working system,
  • Provide 3rd / 4th line support to the Operations department for systems which have been deployed,
  • Gather requirements (non-functional and functional technical tasks) based on high-level architecture and designs. Agree acceptance criteria with stakeholders for each task identified,
  • Participate in (or facilitate) project meetings including planning meetings, system design ‘whiteboard sessions’ and stand-ups,
  • Look for and drive process improvements in our development lifecycle,
  • Participate in (or facilitate) Agile planning and retrospectives.

Wymagania

  • Working knowledge and proficient coding in Node.js,
  • Very good knowledge of Express.js or Serverless Framework,
  • Experience in working with Docker,
  • Experience in working with architecture based on Microservices,
  • Experience of test-driven development,
  • Experience in CI/CD,
  • Experience in SQL, No-SQL databases, PostgreSQL and MongoDB,
  • Can grasp networking protocols like NTP, DNS, RADIUS etc,
  • Knowledge of Terraform,
  • Knowledge of AWS is a big advantage,
  • Experience of developing and maintaining shell scripts,
  • Experience working with Git and performing code reviews,
  • Experience of building and maintaining CI pipelines,
  • Strong familiarity and working knowledge of Linux operating system,
  • Strong understanding of networks,
  • Experience with dealing with RESTful API’s,
  • Knowledge of clustering and load balancing technologies,
  • Knowledge of automation tools and practices,
  • Experience with Cloud platforms such as OpenStack, AWS,
  • Good understanding of TCP and UDP,

Project description:

Customer is a telecom major based out of UK. Team comprises of Solution Architects, Front-end and Backend developers, Tester, and Scrum Master. Position is open for Poland temotely.

Your team will be responsible for re-writing the alerting stack. It is an in-house built solution which interfaces over 300 monitoring tools across Company to data processing engine (Spark) to allow creation of incidents. Over the last 12 months, the alerting stack has received almost 1 million alerts from infrastructure and applications across the estate, resulting in almost 100,000 incident creations or updates in Spark. In addition to incident handling, the stack also is to provide supporting tools and functionality, such as storm protection, downtimes, event enrichment and customisable dashboards to view specific groups of events.
